Rowan Class Assembly
It is Rowan class' assembly at 3:10pm on Friday 8th May. The children will be presenting information about what they have learned about the Roman invasion of Britain. Parents/carers are very welcome to come along and watch.
If your child wishes to dress as a Celt or Roman for the assembly, they are very welcome to do so, though this is not essential. Children should wear school uniform to school, as per normal, and those who wish to dress-up can get changed just prior to the assembly.
Should your child wish to practise their lines over the weekend, attached below is the script and a copy of the lyrics to the song 'An Ode to Woad'.
Crofton Roman Villa
Thank you to all the parents who recently helped out with Rowan class’ trip to Crofton Roman Villa.
The children has a fantastic time learning about archaeology and Roman lifestyles. They got to try their hand at mosaic making and brass rubbing, as well as having the opportunity to handle and sketch real Roman artefacts. Some children even had the chance to dress-up like Roman citizens!
Rowan class will be holding a class assembly on 8th May to present all they have learned about life in Roman Britain. Parents/carers are welcome to watch (3:10pm start).
Next term we will be studying mini-beasts, so a trip to High Elms for pond-dipping is planned!
Rowan class have enjoyed studying about Extreme Weather. In the photos below the children are working together to show everything they know about weather and weather forecasting. As well as learning about how to forecast the weather, they have learned about different climate zones and how sometimes the weather can cause devastation!
The cost of school lunches for the second half of term is £77.00 (£66 for those Year 6 pupils going to the Isle of Wight)
From 1st September 2017 we will not be accepting cash or cheques in school. Please register with School Gateway if you have not already done so.
