We are very lucky to have many excellent coaches who come into school both during lunch time and after school to deliver high quality sport and extra curricular activities.
There are many opportunities for our pupils to represent the school in a variety of events. In recent years we have played against other schools in football, tag rugby, athletics and netball. We have also entered several sporting festivals including events for the disabled and dance.
The singing club have participated in Young Voices at the 02 Arena, and the school band has taken part in the Bromley Schools Prom on several occasions.
The school also runs a successful Play Leaders scheme two lunch times a week. This allows the year 6 pupils to organise and lead games for the Year 3 and 4 children. It is a great opportunity for all involved to work together and learn leadership and co-operation skills.
Darrick Wood Junior has a long tradition of providing wide ranging and high quality musical experiences for its pupils. There is an impressive range of instrumental tuition through peripatetic teachers from the Bromley Youth Music Trust. Currently we offer lessons in the following instruments: flute, clarinet, saxophone, piano, trumpet, trombone, violin, cello, double bass, drums and guitar. Parents should contact the school office for information about specific instruments and fees.
The cost of school lunches for the second half of term is £77.00 (£66 for those Year 6 pupils going to the Isle of Wight)
From 1st September 2017 we will not be accepting cash or cheques in school. Please register with School Gateway if you have not already done so.
