External Agencies & Communication

Partnership with External Agencies

The school works with a number of external agencies to seek advice and support to ensure that the needs of all children are fully understood and met. These include:

  • Educational psychology service
  • Sensory support service
  • Speech and language service
  • Occupational therapy
  • Social and communication service
  • School nurse
  • CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service
  • Educational Welfare service

Liaison/Communication with Professionals/Parents, attendance at meetings and preparation of reports

  • Regular meetings as required
  • SENCO available at all Parent Consultation Meetings
  • SENCO or other staff member will attend meetings with outside agencies whenever possible
  • SENCO will pass on any reports from outside agencies to class teachers and discuss with them the implications of these
  • Reports from the school by any outside agency will be completed by the member of staff who knows the child best, which is usually the class teacher. However the SENCO will be available to discuss the report, review it before it is sent and ensure that copies have been taken for the child’s file
  • Referrals to outside agencies as required
  • Speech and Language Therapist for specific individual pupils
  • Sensory Support; Educational Psychologist; Social Communication Team attend school at regular intervals to see specific pupils
  • The SENCO is available to speak to parents at mutually convenient times. However, specific class based issues, progress concerns and intervention related matters should always be directed to the class teacher in the first instance.

Bromley Parent Partnership & Choice Service Local Offer

Offers impartial, confidential information advice and support for parents/carers of children with SEN. We offer independent, impartial, confidential advice for all parents/carers with the move from pre-school to primary school and from primary to secondary school.

Educational Professional responsible  for children who are looked after children: Miss C Carter

Oversees and monitors provision for children who are in the care of the Local Authority -  Looked After Children (LAC)
