Poetry in Motion 

To start our Coming to England Topic we researched some of the cultural aspects of the Caribbean, including: food, clothes, climate, music. We used our research to write some lovely acrostic poems about Trinidad.

Spruce Sewing Stars

Spruce have been showing off their fantastic sewing skills in our Make-Do and Mend project. In Topic the children learnt about rationing and how, as well as food, clothing was also rationed. This meant families had to make sure they had as much wear as possible out of their clothes by re-using or mending items rather than buying new ones. 

Spruce are using old material, fabric and clothing items to create new products such as: cuddly toys for children, mobile phone holders or upgrading clothes by sewing on decorative items including sequins and jewels.
