We had a lovely time on our trip to Lullingstone and enjoyed getting very wet in the river! We put our scientific skills into action, measuring the speed the river flowed at, the depth, the width and the temperature. A big thank you to the children for behaving wonderfully and to the parents who helped!
We are very proud of the rainforest pictures we created. We tried to create a mood and used layers in the style of Rousseau.
We have started a new book called Jemmy Button. It's about a boy who is brought from the rainforest to live in Victorian England. Take a look at our freeze frames - this is how we thought about what Jemmy and the visitors might have been thinking when they met for the first time. We used our facial expressions and body language to show how we were feeling.
Healthy Snack Project
In 5 Yew, we have been learning about keeping healthy. As part of this we had the chance to design our own healthy snack to sell to Year 6. We worked as a group to research and design our snack, then walked up to Sainsbury's to buy our ingredients; these had to fit into our £6 budget!
Take a look at the pictures below to see some of the delicious creations we came up with!
In our Topic we have been learning about Ancient Greece. We learned about all of the different sports they had.
Then we had to work in groups to create a freeze frame of one of the sports in secret, so that the rest of the class could guess.
Can you guess which Ancient Greek sports we are showing?
